Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher prepares individuals to be Lead Teacher qualified in early childhood programs. Participants will dive into child development, curriculum planning, learn about effective guidance strategies and developmentally appropriate environments and more. 

 

This non-credit course fulfills the requirements described in The Department of Children and Families Chapter 251 for Group Child Care in Wisconsin. 

 

This course requires completion of 50 hours of participation, including independent study, coursework and face to face/virtual sessions.

 

This course will be verified on the Wisconsin Child Care Registry upon successful completion.

 

Class Schedule:

Required Virtual Face to Face Sessions via Zoom

  • At least 15 hours of Virtual / Face to Face sessions are required.
  • At least 35 Hours of independent work is required for successful completion of course.

 

This course is offered online via an online platform and face to face via ZOOM. Participants must have access to Wi-Fi and a computer or laptop (cell phones are not recommended). 

 

Students must complete an online registration from by the registration end date. The registration link will be sent via email after you have completed your transaction. Please check your email and spam folder for registration link.

 

Students will receive a Welcome Email on the first day of class, which will include the Zoom link and additional information needed to attend class.

    • Students are expected to complete all required activities within the allotted timeframe for the course.
    • Students should be prepared to attend each online class session on time for the full duration of the class, having a good Wi-Fi connection, audio and a laptop or computer (cell phones are not recommended).
    • 100% attendance is required in all face-to-face online class sessions. Missing class for any reason will result in a withdrawal from the course. The instructor does not excuse students from class.
    • Students must be visible on camera for the full duration of each face-to-face online class session.
    • Students are expected to be distraction free and free from other engagements during face-to-face online sessions. Please choose a quiet space, away from noise and background activity during class.
    • Students are responsible for reading emails (including spam folders) for content, links and information related to the course.
    • Students are responsible for communicating needs related to the course to the instructor ahead of time if possible or promptly, to prevent any hindrances to completing course requirements.
    • Refunds may be allowed for limited circumstances. Participants may request a refund up to seven days before the scheduled course start date. Refund requests must be submitted in writing from the purchaser of the course.

    • Refunds will not be issued for requests submitted within seven days of the course start date, missed sessions, non-attendance, schedule conflicts, withdrawal from the course by student or instructor, technology issues, failure to complete course requirements, noncompletion of the course, etc.  This list is not limited to the items mentioned above.
